Our Wonder Lab allows curious minds to explore aspects of life they wonder about, with a primary focus on secrets related to light and fluids.

In particular, we focus on understanding these two natural phenomena better by describing and visualizing their behavior as precisely as possible. By doing this, we can observe and uncover their characteristics.

To achieve the above, we model, simulate, and animate both light and fluids. We mainly use two approaches:

• Starting from a mathematical description of nature to derive the desired natural phenomenon.
• Observing natural behavior and subsequently aiming to describe it mathematically.

Finally, we present all our outcomes (including code) transparently on the webpage, so that anybody can investigate them further. Moreover, in our presentation, we strive to use ordinary language so that as many people as possible can understand it and explore it for themselves.
This is also one of the reasons we write the protocols, where anybody can learn how to set up a virtual environment on their computer to try modeling nature themselves. :)
